Instead of individual posts for my Christmas-related treats, I decided to save them all for a single post. We had fewer gatherings this year, with fewer people…which was fine with me! I was able to focus more on my self and my family.
However, I spent the entire month eating sweets and drinking wine! 😆
My daughters had 2 school friends come over for a few hours. It has been so long since my girls have had time with friends outside of school or dance. They spent the day day riding scooters and skateboards up and down the street, jumping on the trampoline, and making cookies! This helped us kick off the Christmas season!

A few days later, I baked up the pieces for a gingerbread house, assembled it, then after school my girls decorated it together.

I decided to make cupcakes for each of my daughters’ teachers, plus a dozen for the school office.
- Chocolate cupcakes with mint buttercream
- Bourbon chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream

Christmas isn’t Christmas until we spend an evening decorating cookies! After school was out for winter break, we spent an evening decorating our cookies. I was quite impressed with everyone’s skills!
Mine Husband Roo Bug
Bug has a Foodstirs subscription, and this month’s cookie was mini gingerbread houses!

I inadvertently made peppermint drinking chocolate! I was intending to make peppermint chocolate ganache pie, but I made an error in my preparation and ended up with runny ganache! (This is what I’ve been adding to my morning coffee!)

I did successfully make a peppermint chocolate ganache pie….

Tradition requires me to make boiled custard! This was the first year my daughters have been all about it! The grown-ups added their preferred spirits (bourbon for me) to make egg nog.

That concludes my Christmas treats! Non-treats not pictured: kale Caesar salad, roasted Brussels sprouts & broccoli with bacon.
I hope everyone had a safe and joyous holiday!
