Valentines Day Sweeties

I *think* we are finished with celebrating Valentines Day! It was a busy week, for sure!

The week before V-Day, Roo got the flu and was out of school for 3.5 days. The week of V-Day was make-up work madness! The kids had a half-day on the 14th for teacher inservice…and they got the 15th off. Then they had the 18th off for Presidents Day!

To top it all off, my husband has been traveling all month for work!

For the shortest month, February seems to be lasting FOR-EV-ER!

Despite our hectic schedules, I wanted to make sure my girls felt super-loved this Valentines Day. They miss their daddy, and this mommy has been stressed out with everything…including my tweenager’s mood swings!

To start off Valentines Day, I made my girls a special breakfast….

I woke up super early for this effort! I felt like they deserved more than Honey Nut Chex.

I also had their gifts ready….

Bug loves Shining Light Dolls, so I got her the newest one for her collection.

I had signed up to bring mini-cupcakes to Bug’s class party. She picked out the liners and decorations: Wilton’s Edible Accents (pink hearts)….

Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream
My batter makes 48 mini-cupcakes, so I brought the extra ones to school for the ladies in the office.

Then, I have my Book Club ladies!

Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting

I topped these with shaved dark chocolate and Wilton’s Edible Accents (pink hearts).

I hope everyone had a wonderful, flu-free Valentines Day!
