My goal leading up to Christmas was to not overdo myself. I think I did great: one tree instead of two; minimal outdoor decorations; easy indoor decorations; activities for the kids that align with our existing schedule….
Most importantly: don’t bake everything!
We learned a few years ago that it was not worth our sanity (and waste lines) to attend every family function. So that helps!
I didn’t even bake cupcakes for my kids’ Christmas parties! In fact, I actually bought some shortbread cookies and sent them in with one of my daughters! *gasp*
As soon as the kids started their break, I let the fun begin!
Gingerbread houses (I didn’t even bake them from scratch! Again, *gasp*)…
And I even bought a kit from the store for myself!
Quick cookies…
Hot Cocoa…
Boiled Custard…
And my traditional Buttermilk-Glazed Mini Fig Cakes…
Hope everyone has a joyous Christmas season!
