Avocado Brownies

I’m on a cleanse AND I’ve been eating sugar-free for a week…and I’ve spent this week making sweets for others! Plus, my youngest daughter turns 5 in a few days, so there’s a birthday cake in the works.

I need chocolate. Bad.

These avocado brownies hit the spot! Note: if they turn out too eggy/spongey, you may have overmixed the batter!

Avocado Brownies
Yields 8×8 pan


  • 1 Large avocado
  • 10-12 medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender, blend until smooth.
  3. Pour batter in an greased 8×8 pan, bake for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Let it cool and cut. Enjoy!
